The regional offices of Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute help companies improve productivity and quality, reduce costs, plan expansions, start new operations, and implement proven manufacturing technologies.

Help for small businesses
Through the University of Georgia 's statewide network of Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), businesses can receive free one-on-one counseling from experienced business professionals.

Technology business incubator
Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) helps technology-based companies rapidly bring new innovations to market. ATDC has four locations in Atlanta, Savannah and Warner Robins, Georgia.

Technology research grants
The SBIR Resource Program helps Georgia companies with less than 500 employees get Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants, available from federal agencies for high-risk research.

In the news

Jean-Luc Bredas, a professor in Georgia Tech's School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, is one of a group of researchers - some based in Europe, others here in Atlanta - that has earned the 2003 Descartes Prize, an award for outstanding scientific and technological achievements resulting from collaborative research conducted in Europe.

Named in honor of René Descartes, the aim of the prize is the most prestigious research prize given by the European Union. The award ceremony for the 2003 prize took place Nov. 20 in Rome, and Bredas' research collaborators took first prize.
